Amboseli is one of Kenya’s most famous national parks. Amboseli is a Maa language word that means ‘salty dust’. The park is 390 square kilometers (150square miles) at the core of an 8000square kilometers (3000square mile) ecosystem that spreads across the Kenya-Tanzania border. The park has an endless supply of water which is filtered through thousands of meters of volcanic rock from mount Kilimanjaro.
